Is Your Lip Balm Drying Out Your Lips? Something Is Not Right Here.
There are countless supposedly soothing remedies offered to keep our lips soft and supple from cheapies to rather expensive lip gloss and even some lipsticks but, have you ever noticed how you become dependent on the balm of your choice only to notice a few months later that your lips aren’t any better off (and in some cases they are actually worse). Something is definitely amiss….they promised your lips would be practically perfect and yet you are right back where you started only a few dollars short and a little irritated.
So many of these balms and glosses for your lips are made up of synthetics and most of them seem to be made only to please our sense of smell and taste because the healing power is just not there. You put it on your lips the first day and are probably impressed with the smell and possibly the taste, maybe even the texture. Most of the time it even feels like it is working on your lips. The next day you continue to use that lip-gloss that cost you anywhere from .99 to $40.00 (amazing price difference) thinking that your lips will benefit from constant use. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case as after prolonged use many lip products only seem to make the dryness worse as the synthetic ingredients are not healing your dry lips.
Next time you go to purchase a lip balm keep these tips in mind. First, find a lip balm that contains all natural ingredients (preferably organic or certified organic). I do not mean natural ingredients such as those “derived from coconut” or some other fruit, but actually natural as in real avocado oil, and safflower oil. Second, take the time to look the ingredients up on a reputable natural health website or in a whole foods book and find out about the healing and moisturizing properties they contain. You want to find a balm that is nourishing and will continuously feed your lips with nutrients from all natural sources.
If you can use an organic lip balm it would be even better because you will inevitably get some of this lip balm into your mouth as most people lick there lips at some point throughout the day without even knowing it. Don’t simply buy any old gloss or balm that they slap the word “natural” on. Be sure to read the ingredients to determine if the product is truly natural. If the product has a certifying body’s stamp of approval on it indicating that the product has met strict requirements to be labeled “certified organic” then this would be your best buy. Use this organic lip balm to heal your lips and keep your body toxin free!
