Lisa Eldridge – 4 Ways with Lipstick

Despite the fact that lip-gloss is far outselling lipstick, all the fashion brands are launching their signature lipsticks so there has never been a better time to get back into it (I never stopped applying btw). As much as I love gloss, you can do a lot more with a good lipstick. This film is to demonstrate that no matter what shade you choose there are at least four different effects you can achieve. I’ve chosen the ‘scary’ Rouge Noir by Chanel to show how even the darkest of lipsticks can be applied in a wearable way for daytime use. From natural to very dramatic, the effects I achieve are all dependant on the method of application. Lipstick can be applied in a modern way thats relevant today for all ages! Hi lisa, loving your vids, thanks for sharing all your experience!i know you mentioned in this vid that the shade in the rouge coco Chanel ads is mademoiselle, but there seem to be shades!do u have any idea which the other one is?and which is which!thanks again x

is it the same if i apply the lipstick directly on my lips and THEN use a brush to distribute it??

This video was so helpful. I’ve stopped using lipsticks because my lips are so dry, I’m addicted to balms an glosses. But I don’t like the super glossy finish to some of them. I’ll definitely start using lipsticks with a touch of gloss, there are so many ways to combine them and make the lips interesting. I only regret not being able to use shades such as in this video since my lips are thin(ish). You are sooo inspiring and gorgeous.

I actually love the classic matte finish. It’s so natural, very beautiful. I’m more a lipstain girl you see so I never really got into lipgloss. I’m 19. I won’t let it die out – I love lipstick! =)

Would have never expected how lovley that lipstick came out in the end from how dark it is on the lipstick itself! Really suits you xxx

Wonderful posts Lisa!
Muchas gracias ;)
Quick question: Would you say that Rouge Noir could work for warm/tanned skin tones? The color is just so lovely on you that it is making me want to give Rouge Noir a try.
Lipstick needs to make a MAJOR com-backt! I’m 30 and I get funny looks from women when I wear a nice red during the day. I suppose that most people do associate strong lipstick colors with their grannies, but we should follow their example and return to femininity & be proud about it

Voll langweilig!??!!?

I love lipsticks and lipgloss has been a new discovery (I’m 37). Now the “problem” is that I was very fond of matte finishes… but now with the lipgloss I always have shiny lips! ;-)

@lisaeldridgedotcom Wow! I can’t believe that you responded. I just discovered you today. I’m so glad that I did. I will definitely tell my other friend who watch videos about you.

@evageline01 that would be lovely…very chic!

Great video! I was thinking about buying a color similar to this one for my wedding day since my theme is purple and its a evening wedding. We have similar shading and dark features. I have to go try this color on. I would do a more simple eye though for my look.

I love wearing lipstick and have always worn it rather than lipgloss. I find it stays longer, covers my pigmented lips and when it’s windy my hair doesn’t stick to it and smear it across my face!

I’m very interested in makeup, but only 16– so you can imagine the looks I get when I pull out a tube to touch up in the bathroom. :] but I don’t care much; their loss. Like Lisa said, there’s something therapeutic about lipstick.

gpong1 @ 9:25 pm #

thank you for this great video!

thnx so much for this video b/c for some reason im always so attracted to lipsticks so more than half my lip products are lipsticks but i only knew to put it straight on my lips or under a gloss im so excited to try them in other ways, especially as blushes :)

hejaful @ 10:28 pm #

the third one is the best…

emmasmiles111 @ 10:38 pm #

i’m 16 and a lot of my friends find it strange that i prefer lipstick over lip gloss. i just find it so much more chic and you’re right, completely therapeutic

goddess002 @ 11:07 pm #

i tried it as a blush & i love it it. It’s hard for me to find cream blushes the don’t look too dolled up on me. Before I use to put the lipstick straight from the tube & used to wonder what’s wrong. lol thank u so much 4 the tips!

i always prefer lipstick compare to glosses. i find using glosses hard especially for those who prefer to let their hair down…like me.

when the wind blows, the hair just sticks to your lips & it messes all over
ekkkk!!!!

lipstick is a classic!
^_~
